Job Title: Financial Planning and Analysis Intern
Location: Corporate (Media, PA) and limited remote capability
Department: Accounting and Finance
Band: $16 per hour
Job Summary: The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will assist the Planning and Analysis Team with the responsibilities listed below. This internship will provide practical work experience and as well as a deeper understanding of Wawa’s retail operations and the cross-functional internal partners supporting the stores.
Principal Duties:
- One project focused on enhancing new store profitability will be designated for the intern to partner with a Sr. Financial Analyst to complete over the course of the internship.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reporting for functions in support of selected business units.
- Extract data from pertinent systems based on various business needs and format the data in a meaningful and useful way. Ensure data is credible and reflective of a specific request.
- Prepare ad-hoc detailed analysis focusing on providing valuable and actionable information on business opportunities or issues.
- Assist in the preparation of the project application process for selected programs, working with various cross-functional departments to ensure that applications are accurate and approved in a timely manner.
- Work cross functionally with Store Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate, Fuel, Facilities, IT and Corporate Finance to support corporate profitability and new initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Basic understanding of corporate financial statements
- Understanding of the key operational considerations in a business that drive profitability
