Job Description
Job Title: Tax Accounting Intern
Location: Corporate (Wawa, PA) and limited remote capability
Department: Accounting & Finance
Band: $16.00/hr
Position Summary:
Assists with the preparation of quarterly and annual taxable income calculations, various tax returns and other duties within the tax department.
Principal Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual taxable income calculations.
- Assist with the preparation of various state and federal motor fuel excise tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of various state sales and use tax returns.
- Assist with the monthly accounting closing.
- Perform tax research as assigned by the Tax Manager and Tax Accountants relating to all areas of taxation.
- Assist with the preparation of account analysis.
- Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned by the Tax Manager.
- Assist in the LIFO calculation.
- File annual reports as required for all subsidiaries.
Essential Functions:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree with concentration or major in Accounting preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, Word, Outlook
